Adelaide offset printer buys Australia’s first Baumann guilotine

The 15-staff offset business installed the Baumann BC115 guillotine along with a Baumann BSW 3-1000 pile turner last week.

Express Colour factory manager Scott Challen said he was impressed by the electrical capabilities of the machine, which the company brought in to deal with increased demand.

“The electrical side of the machine is the best I’ve ever seen,” he said.

“You just punch in your margins and it’s pretty spot on.”

“So far we haven’t had any problems; the installation and training was a success,” he said.

Rayne Simpson, Ferrostaal’s general manager, print finishing, said that the supplier had plans to bring more Baumann guillotines into Australia.

“We’ve been selling Baumann for 25 years; they are basically the inventors of paper handling equipment,” he said.

“In this time Baumann has grown significantly and now they have an excellent guillotine to offer with their paper handling.”

“Next to the increased productivity, Baumann have also made a giant step forward with improved ergonomics.”
