Agfa launches Adamas plate

Agfa is launching Adamas, a new chemical free plate, which the company is claiming as the most durable plate available on the market.

The company says Adamas brings robustness to a whole new level, and offers every benefit of chem-free solutions. Agfa claims the plate efficiency, both in plate throughput as well as in run length, with optimal press performance, zero water and up to 75 per cent less waste compared to similar products.

Agfa says commercial printers seeking cost efficiency and process optimisation without compromising on performance, can consider the new plate, which to maximise performance, was designed for use with Agfa Graphics’ dedicated Adamas clean-out units. The company says due to their eco-driven design, they can be simply cleaned with pH-neutral clean-out solution and zero water.

Iris Bogunovic, product manager for Thermal Plates says, “When we designed Adamas, we kept every need of the most advanced commercial printers in mind. The result shows innovation on all fronts – increased durability, enhanced performance and responses to the biggest market trends, such as low-power curing inks.

“Adamas is a testament to our ECO3 sustainable innovation drivers, which bring ecology, economy and extra convenience to our customers. With Adamas, commercial printers enjoy every advantage of chem-free printing, combined with new technology, ThermoLink, that takes press performance and process efficiency to new heights.”

Agfa says its ThermoLink technology is at the heart of the plate with run lengths as long as 350,000 copies being no challenge. The ThermoLink technology is said to contribute to its chemical and mechanical robustness and optimum plate performance.

Agfa says Adamas delivers results no matter the application, from commercial sheet-fed and cold-set to heat-set printing. Even more, the plate is said to be compatible with low-power curing UV inks. The company says no matter how abrasive or demanding the conditions are, the plate guarantees press performance and durability.
