Aldus sells country’s biggest ever Mark Andy to Sydney printer

The 10-colour Mark Andy P7 has been purchased by an unnamed Sydney print shop, which will take delivery of the exhibition machine directly after PrintEx.

However, Aldus managing director Ian Guanaria told ProPrint: “Due to the size of the press and the limitations on the stand size, we will only be exhibiting it as a six-colour press.”

Guanaria said the spec was “a 10-colour, 17-inch wide machine with many extras and options, and is the largest Mark Andy press ever sold in Australia”.

The 230m per minute narrow-web flexo machine features an open print station design with ‘lock and load’ technology and multiple servos to accommodate more functions at each print station, he explained.

“It’s also a very versatile press, with printing widths of 250, 330 and 430mm and the ability to print on substrates, including film, from 25 to 350 microns,” said Guanaria.

“Features such as in-line rotary die-cutting, web-reversing option, and the ability to combine UV curing with high-efficiency hot-air drying, extend that flexibility further.”

The pre-sold machine is one of two significant sales of Mark Andy kit notched up by Aldus recently.

Guanaria said a Brisbane-based printer is set to take delivery of a Mark Andy 2200 in March.

PrintEx11 takes place on 4-6 May 2011 at Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre.
