Allkotes launches spot TouchMatte

Trade finishing supplier Allkotes has released a spot-version of its TouchMatte finishing, called Soft Spot, which it says offers TouchMatte’s velvet feel as a highlighting option during finishing.

The company says Soft Spot can be considered in a similar light to the use of SpotKote gloss and the way it provides contrast against a MatteKote background.

Darren Delaney, business development director, Allkotes says, “It is perfect for magazine covers, textbook covers, highlights for certain areas, for contrast from gloss film applications all the way to putting a soft spot on top of that.

“It has the look and feel of velvet or suede, similar to TouchMatte film, but just for spotting. You can even use it as a title treatment for mastheads.”

It is the latest addition to the Alkotes finishing options line-up, which also includes Soft Metal, the offset/digital finishing option Delaney describes as a ‘natural matte metallised film, with the appearance of silver film, making four-colour printing come alive and ‘pop’ off the page’.
