AUSPACK 2019 readies for launch

With only five days remaining before the kick off of AUSPACK 2019, event organisers have given nine reasons why this bumper event is a must to attend.

The trade show, billed by organiser and owner Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APPMA) as the leading exhibition in the southern hemisphere, runs from March 26 to 29 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and features 350 suppliers, including 100 international exhibitors.

“AUSPACK 2019 is the largest ever, with four days of fantastic displays and informative events. I encourage those in the packaging and processing industry to make sure they have registered for the free exhibition and have tickets to all events they know they will benefit from all ready to go for next week,” Mark Dingley, chairman of APPMA said.

Over 1200 global brands will feature covering the latest global trends including fast and flexible machinery, track and trace, smart packaging, digital printing, e-commerce and robots.

The exhibition's growth in the last decade has also seen its increasing importance in the Asia-Pacific processing and packaging machinery markets, APPMA says.

The event will also have a dedicated Italian pavilion, featuring some of Italy’s machinery manufacturers that currently supply Australia and the Asia Pacific and others that are looking for business growth opportunities.

“The opportunity for Australian businesses to engage with growing international businesses right on their doorstep offers enormous opportunities. AUSPACK will include a dedicated Italian pavilion among its other global exhibitors,” APPMA says.

Free 30 minute workshops will also be held across each of the four days of the show covering a wide range of topics. Some of the featured speakers at these workshops include: Food Innovation Australia general manager Barry McGookin who will guide attendees navigating the puzzle that is going from idea to market. Meat & Livestock Australia research and innovation program manager for supply chain technology Christian Ruberg will also present.

Organisers say there will also be sessions about being smart, connected and sustainable with keynote speaker Dr Michael Okoroafor, VP of Global Sustainability & Packaging Innovation at McCormick in the USA.

The reinstated APPMA Awards of Excellence will also be held at a gala dinner on the Wednesday night.

A Gen-Z smashed-avo breakfast will be held on the Friday.

Other drawcards are networking drinks on the exhibition floor on Tuesday night and a Japanese style chill-out “Izakaya Lounge” which will be open at various times giving attendees a chance to catch up and further network.
