Blue Star installs largest ever iGen5 fleet

Blue Star Group, a division of IVE Group, has installed four Xerox iGen5 Presses, along with a series of complementary technologies, into locations across the country. It is the largest order to date taken by Fuji Xerox for iGen5, which was only launched last month. The printers will be installed by the Blue Star Print and Blue Star Direct divisions of Blue Star. Matt Aitken, COO of Blue Star parent IVE says, “Blue Star has built its reputation as a market leader off the back of our continual investment in technology. Our customers trust us to deliver the best print quality with the best speed to market, and the Xerox iGen5 Press will further help us to deliver on this promise.” According to Fuji Xerox the technology provides Blue Star with the capability to print complex and intricate work, with, it says, exceptional speed to market. Fuji Xerox says, “The iGen5 Press offers significant advancements in speed, improved image and print quality and introduces a fifth colour that hits a wider range of client’s custom colours without reducing print speed.”

Blue Star conducted a series of spot colour tests on 50 client logos against both the Xerox iGen5 Press’ market rivals and traditional offset presses, confirming a significant jump in colour and image quality from previous generations. Along with the Xerox iGen5 Press, Blue Star has also installed a number of high end Fuji Xerox monochrome Nuvera 314EA Systems. These printers have purpose-built in-line finishing for high volume booklet printing and an in-line scanning and verification system that checks printing integrity during the printing process, allowing Blue Star to improve on and capture more of this market requirement. Finally a Colour 1000i with Metallic Dry Ink, and a Versant 2100 Press round out the suite of installations. The Xerox iGen5 Press installations make Blue Star the largest user of the market leading technology in the Asia Pacific and specifically give Blue Star Direct a significant increase in capacity and. “With the capability to deliver complex jobs and match colours, while maintaining the speed and quality we are known for, we see the Xerox iGen5 Press as a major element contributing to our client’s success,” said Aitken. Adam Fittler, national sales manager at Fuji Xerox Australia says: “Blue Star is a  diverse group, and each site has quite different solutions to satisfy its specific requirements, so the end result was a digital printing solution to match their needs ranging from high-tech security printing to fully automated booklet printing in-line on the new Xerox iGen5 Press”.
