MBE South Brisbane lost all its printing equipment, including an almost brand new Fuji Xerox 700 digital press, when last January’s Brisbane flood sent 40cm of water through the site.

Owner Paul Stenhouse (pictured) said: “The floods in January were a terrible blow to the business, but I decided I wasn’t going to just give in.

“It was another blow to have our insurance company refuse our damage claim, but that made me even more determined to keep going.”

Stenhouse opted to upgrade to a Fuji Xerox Colour 1000 Press and 4112 black-and-white printer.

“When we had to replace the 700 Digital Press, I decided to step up to the Colour 1000 Press in the hope that we would be able to utilise its efficiency and unique print capabilities, along with the 4112’s high-volume production ability,” said Stenhouse.

“We’ve done that. Both machines have given us the production levels and print quality that have enables us to grow the business beyond our expectations in such a short time.”

The two machines have turned out almost 2.5 million A4 pages combined since they were installed in April last year.
