Brisbane franchise eyes 30% growth after ‘following the work’ to new site

The franchise moved on 27 October from one site in Darra to another after noticing that a lot of clients and targets had relocated to the estate following the 2011 floods.

Owner Anita Lennox told ProPrint that the franchise had set itself the goal of generating another five medium-to-large customers from the estate after winning two before the move.

She said moving was a difficult decision, “but we got to a point in our old site where it plateaued”.

The old premises had a rent bill almost double the average across the Minuteman franchise network and lacked a temperature-controlled room in which to run the HP Latex 25500 that Lennox’s company acquired in October 2011.

The new site also has a studio feel, which is expected to better appeal to clients.

Lennox said the three-staff business “want to present ourselves as more of a creative” so clients know about its non-print services. The fit-out of the new site is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

She told ProPrint that a lack of consumer confidence in early 2012 had caused a large drop in orders for Minuteman Press Brisbane and made business “really, really hard.”

It is hoped the move will enable it to regain that ground and then grow another 30% by the end of this financial year.

The franchise also has a Konica Minolta Bizhub Pro C6501 and a two-colour Heidelberg press, said Lennox.
