Brisbane packaging start-up Pakko recognised

Pakko, a Brisbane-based printing and custom packaging company, has been named a finalist in the 2020 MyBusiness Awards for Start-Up Business of the Year.

The company was founded in 2017 by Nina Nguyen, who was recognised in the 2019 ProPrint Emerging 50 as a rising star of the industry.

She is a passionate believer in keeping manufacturing on Australian shores and is pulling out all stops to make this happen.

To strengthen her business and product offer she invested last year in a four-colour CMYK MTEX digital printer, through Neil Southerington at Graffica.

This investment has allowed the business to turn a box, be it a standard shipping carton or a beautiful bespoke creation, quickly and easily into a fully marketable product for a reasonable price.

Nguyen also formed a partnership last year with Glue4U, which provides gluing services which are complementary to Pakko’s offer.

Pakko was announced as a finalist in this year’s MyBusiness Awards last week and will find out on December 4 if it has won the category.

The MyBusiness Awards are designed to recognise business excellence in Australia, with a focus on SMEs.

Nguyen said she was delighted and humbled to be recognised and named as a finalist in the MyBusiness Awards 2020.

“This nomination is a testament to our Pakko team values. Our commitment to sustainability, our resilience in challenging times and our absolute care for one another is the key to any success we share,” she said.
