Canon scoops two Product of the Year Awards

Canon Australia has scooped two Product of the Year accolades at this year’s Speciality Graphic Imaging (SGIA) Expo in Las Vegas for its Océ  Arizona 1280 GT and 2280 XT series.

The SGIA Product of the Year for UV Flatbed + White $100-$200k was awarded to the Océ Arizona 1280 GT, while the same accolade for UV Flatbed + White $200-500k was given to the Océ  Arizona 2280 XT.

Adrian Morris, manager of display graphics for Canon Australia says the recognitions are a clean sweep for the supplier’s white equipped UV flatbed printers.

“We are proud to be a double winner for flatbed products. Our equipment was compared to the best in the world and we came out on top,” says Morris.

“The organisers said it was one of the most challenging judging processes in recent history.”

Ray Weiss, SGIA’s digital specialist adds, “We are thrilled with the participation from exhibiting companies, and we even doubled the product categories to correctly acknowledge all of the possible technical accomplishments in this competition.  It was a competitive field.”

In 2011 Canon also took out the Product of the Year gong at the SGIA awards for its Océ  series, and in 2009 it won two of the same awards for its 350 XT and 350 GT Arizona flatbed digital printers
