Carbon questions answered at PIAA and LIA dinner event

The associations are holding a gala dinner with three key speakers offering opinions on carbon questions facing printers.

Guests will also have the chance to see a carbon counter already in place by Quote & Print and ANZ Bank.

LIA federal president Grant Churchill hopes the counter will be utilised across the industry, but is concerned printers will have a particularly tough time if the ETS is put into place.

“The printing industry is a fairly major user of electricity and power and we are going to see power prices almost doubling,” he said.

“With the government imposing penalties, it will make things tough.”

The dinner on 22 February will also feature a talk from environmental expert Phillip Lawrence and an explanation of the PIAA’s Sustainable Green Print certification.
