CaxtonWeb jobs cut after contract loss to PMP and Webstar merger

PMP plucked the contract for Bauer Media, the new name for ACP Magazines, back in May 2012. The work had been supplied by Blue Star's web printing division, Webstar.

The redundancies will come from CaxtonWeb, which became part of the same group following Geoff Selig's takeover of Blue Star in November.

ProPrint understands that about 10-15 staff will lose their jobs.

The loss of work, which ProPrint understands to be worth more than $10 million, is thought to have prompted most of the redundancies, with only a small number being due to the impending merger between CaxtonWeb and Webstar.

ProPrint understands that some of CaxtonWeb's 75 employees have been transferred to other parts of the group.

Webstar will have about 200 staff once the integration is completed.

Selig declined to comment.
