CJ King buys Heidelberg perfector as ganged jobs grow

The Speedmaster SM 74 has replaced two older pieces of kit, and company director Chris King said the installation marked a resurgence for the company.

“I am not going to lie, business has been very flat for the last couple of years, but things are picking up again and it’s not all doom and gloom.”

King said that the new press was the ideal platform for run lengths over 5,000, and would be used for ganged jobs over two shifts.

“Heidelberg’s got a great product for our market,” he said.

“For slightly longer runs, you can’t beat the eight-colour perfector. It just eats work”.

He added that people thought the company was “mad” for investing in a high-end machine, but said the company needed the latest technology to maximise opportunities.

The 75-staff company services clients in Australia and New Zealand from two sites in Perth and the Gold Coast.
