Colour Graphics Services makes available ChromaLT software for SMBs

Australian distributor for Techkon colour measuring instruments, Colour Graphics Services, has introduced Techkon’s ChromaLT, a ‘lite’ version of the Chroma software, to the local market.

The solution is aimed at small and mid-sized packaging printers that are looking for an affordable solution that is also easy to deploy in the pressroom.

ChromaLT is a companion software for press-side spectrophotometers and makes matching colour on press quick and easy. The solution guides operators on how to get a match with either specific ink density adjustments (G7 verified) or by toning the ink when density adjustments need supplementing.

Colour Graphics Services director David Crowther said, “Techkon ChromaLT represents excellent value for such an advanced colour management software application and works seamlessly with Techkon SpectroDens. It is available on either a yearly subscription or outright lifetime purchase.”

He added that operators will appreciate colour matching feedback that is easy to understand, actionable, and with clear pass or fail indications.

When the job is done, the measurements are saved and a report can be generated for internal and external stakeholders, identifying colours printed in tolerances and the success of the job.

ChromaLT also aims to improve print process efficiencies by removing the colour matching guesswork, which in turn cuts make-ready times and ultimately, increases profitability.

Some of the solution’s other key features include: centralisation for the storage of colour standards by organising into libraries; choosing up to eight colours per job and set the deltaE tolerances for each; and measuring colours in any order and ChromaLT automatically identifying the correct colour standard in the job.
