Colour growth stalls in local digital market

The report analysed unit shipment and installed base figures for colour and monochrome printers in Australia in 2008, with overall shipments down to 1585 machines, a drop of 10 per cent compared to 2007. The decline was greatest with colour printers, which recorded an 8 per cent drop.

PODi also found the total estimated installed base in Australia exceeded 7,500 production devices – 55 per cent of which were colour.

The study analysed data from major industry vendors such as Canon, Fuji Xerox, Hewlett-Packard, Konica Minolta, Océ and Ricoh.
