Daily Telegraph scores print award

News Corp paper The Daily Telegraph collected a print advertising award at this year’s International News Media Association Global Media Awards for its Les Miserables front cover.

The newspaper was awarded third place globally in the Best Execution of Print Advertising category for its four-page transparent wrap advertising the launch of the French musical Les Miserables.

According to the team at The Daily Telegraph, the printing process was a long process involving transparent paper and intricate colour work.

“Our team across different departments, including pre-media, customer solutions, editorial and print production, worked together to make sure all deadlines and deliverables were met,” News Corp stated.

“A six week printing test was conducted to ensure flawless precision in the finished product, adjusting the colours and image to see fit.”

The award ceremony was held in London last night, and News Corp Australia dominated the Australian division with 10 media awards. Fairfax Media snagged one award and APN won two.

The wrap was also recognised as the Best Print Single Advertisement for a Client Award at the 2015 Panpa Advertising and Marketing Awards.
