The palm-sized Pantone CapSure comes with CapSure Palette software, which downloads to all the major creative software such as Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.

Mark Wilton, image and media markets specialist at DES, said: “We’re excited about the PrintEx11 show launch of this innovative, compact new colour product.

“It allows printers to specify colour and never get it wrong again. It’s handy and portable, and has an intuitive design,” he added.

Wilton said DES is running a show special, offering a substantial discount off the $785 plus GST retail price. He said he was willing to be flexible with customers.

The pocket-sized hardware captures colour from any surface, material or fabric – even small, patterned, multi-coloured textures and textiles – and matches it quickly and accurately to a Pantone colour.

Wilton said CapSure is easy to use and portable yet its advanced image capture technology sets a new standard for accuracy and versatility in the iPhone-sized device.

It comes pre-loaded with more than 8,000 Pantone colours, including the Pantone Plus series Formula Guide (coated and uncoated), the Pantone Plus series CMYK, and the Pantone Goe System (coated and uncoated) for graphic design, printing and publishing.

A bundled Palette Application Software allows easy integration of captured colours into design programs and updating of stored colour libraries.

It even comes with a protective carry pouch, wrist strap, USB cable, software and quick-start guide.
