DES shows strength in wide-format inkjet and materials at PacPrint

Sign and display is the name of the game for DES at PacPrint, with hybrid UV printers from EFI as well as pressure-sensitive materials.

DES will also showcase range of proofing and colour management solutions.

The vendor's stand will host a two-metre wide EFI Vutek QS2Pro, which is aimed at point-of-sale and fine art applications.

DES sales director Russell Cavenagh said: "With its super-wide format, ink-saving grey-scale technology, Vutek's legendary three-layer white and high productivity in a small footprint, this machine can produce up to 93sqm an hour and can be switched from flatbed to roll-to-roll operation in less than two minutes."

Beside this device, DES will show the EFI H652 wide-format machine, which Cavenagh said was "widely regarded one of the most reliable UV printers on the market".

The stand will also boast the 64-inch Epson SureColor. Cavenagh said: "The SureColor range has quickly established a name for itself in the solvent printing market with its eco-solvent and nickel-free inks, photo quality print, robust construction and high productivity of up to 52sqm per hour."

Alongside machinery, DES will show its expertise with material, particularly the MacTac range of pressure-sensitive products.

DES sign and display manager Mark McInnes said: "At PacPrint, we will feature exciting new areas like bespoke interiors with a range of architectural graphic materials including Imagin media and PermaColor laminates, which make it easy to transform everyday environments into something extraordinary."

McInnes recently joined DES from Spicers.

PacPrint visitors will also get to see CGS Flex Pack Web, a turnkey solution designed for flexible packaging proofing and mock-up production.

The DES stand will also include EFI's new Fiery XF software, which is designed to replace the Colorproof XF and Bestcolor software packages.

DES will also show the Canon ImagePrograf iPF 6450 aqueous printer, as well as colour measurement and management solutions from Pantone and X-Rite.
