Distributor says Quark is back

Graphic arts software QuarkXPress has a new distributor in Australia, Cherri International, which says its non-subscription model is making it an attractive alternative to the Adobe software suite.

With the 2017 version of the software having made its debut at PacPrint, Mark Wren, of Cherri International says the latest version introduces new features, and a cleaner interface for ease of use.

Wren says, “I have been involved with Adobe, including helping them from time to time with software testing over the past 20 years.

“The software is good, and you will never hear a bad word against it. However, as a large company with shareholders making decisions, the path they have gone down is not correct. Adobe is losing people as the costs creep up and up.

“Quark is a one-time purchase price, and can be installed on two computers, and is Mac/PC compatible.

“The idea behind Quark is that everything can be done in the one place; QuarkXPress allows the user to open Adobe Illustrator, Indesign, PSD, PDF, EPS, CorelDRAW, Microsoft Publisher, Word and Excel as native content.

“Our core market is printers and graphic designers, advertising agencies, photographers. People who need horsepower with their computer, and an ability to use industry standard software.

“Whether you purchase Quark through us or a reseller, it is the same, agreed price.

“The people returning to Quark have given fantastic feedback; Quark has returned with a vengeance.”

Wren says that as a user of the software, and having had dual roles in both IT and Print, he better understands the product.
