Doggett gets into vinyl

KW Doggett is releasing a line of vinyl products under the Tacky brand for use on HP Indigo printers, in an effort to expand its digital offerings to meet customer demand.

Business development manager Jon Roberts says the Tacky range is the paper merchant’s first foray into small-format vinyl products, allowing customers to print short run digital jobs on vinyl.

“The new range addresses the demand for high quality print, short runs and variable data options. This was previously only possible with UV offset or screen printing,” he says.

“We have been working on many new products for digital printers, and there has been a huge amount of interest in vinyl from our customers.

“Short run needed vinyl more than ever so we thought it was the perfect time to introduce this product.”

Tacky products come in 305×457 and 330x482mm sheets, close to A3 size, and specifications inlcude permanent (white only), removable (clear and white), wall graphics (white only), and static (clear and white).

It can be used for a range of print jobs including indoor and outdoor advertising, wall decals, point-of-sale and car stickers.

Roberts says it would be useful to anyone operating a HP Indigo printer and most of Doggett’s Indigo customers had been asking for it.

The company says Tacky is weather and tear resistant; eco-friendly; and made with water-based adhesives which provide pressure sensitive control and product quality while minimising environmental impact.

Roberts says Doggett will release several other new products for digital printers in the next few months.
