Domino Printing generates 12% rise in revenue

The company is now turning its guns on research and development, following the successful integration of On-Line Coding Limited, the UK distributor of Domino’s thermal transfer overprinting business Easyprint German software house Control Information Technology.

Chairman Peter Byrom said: “We have generated a further period of sales and profit growth. Despite the more uncertain global economic conditions, the fundamental strength of our business has led to increased demand for our products across all geographic regions.”

Growth was present across all regions, but strongest in developing economies the company said, with volumes in the continuous inkjet and laser sectors growing by more than 10 per cent. Underlying profits increased by 11 per cent to £16.8m ($AU34.8).

Byrom said: “We have a strong position in a global industry serving multiple market sectors. We have a large installed base of printers generating fluids, spares and service revenues.

“While we are not immune to the slower rates of growth in some of the major world economies, and the impact this is having on customers’ investment plans, the fundamental strength of our business gives us optimism about the future.”

At drupa, Domino announced the launch of its Bitjet+ v4.5, a printer targeting the short-run and personalised newspaper markets, as well as announcing new versions of its K-series and L-series printheads.
