Ducor’s parent loses share in $575,000 rego sticker contract

According to the state government, the labels cost $575,000 a year to produce.

PMG general manager of sales and marketing Lisa Stark told ProPrint that it “[came] as no surprise based on activity in other states”.

She wouldn’t reveal any details about the contract.

Western Australia and South Australia no longer use registration labels. NSW will follow suit from 1 January 2013.

Stark said PMG was “constantly adapting to market changes” and would recover from the contract loss.

NSW said it had decided to abolish the stickers because they weren’t needed to support compliance and weren’t a reliable indicator that a vehicle was registered.

Premier Barry O’Farrell said the move would cut red tape and particularly benefit businesses with large vehicle fleets.

NSW introduced registration labels in 1932.

PMG acquired Ducor Australia in 2006. In 2011, PMG bought the assets of failed print manager Moore Australasia from the administrators.
