EFI makes available v9 of its Productivity Suite offerings

EFI has launched the version 9 releases in its Productivity Suite offerings, which aim to provide comprehensive, validated, end-to-end business and production management workflows for commercial print, mailing, display graphics, publication and packaging operations.

The suite is based on EFI’s MIS/ERP platforms, including Monarch, Pace, Radius, CTI and Technique software.

EFI senior vice-president of productivity software Gaby Matsliach used the company’s EFI Engage virtual event to detail updates across the sector-specific suites of MIS-based workflow tools.

Its Mid-market Suite, most relevant to commercial printers, now includes business intelligence capabilities for analysis, in addition to dashboard views of key production and business metrics, and finishing optimisation planning tools.

In addition, it includes entry-level fulfilment capabilities from EFI’s MarketDirect software to aid in the management of workflows. It also features 24/7 support for customer e-service functions, which enables customers to proof and track job statuses through production and review invoices and previous orders.

As for the MarketDirect suite, EFI expanded it with PackCentral enhancements in 2020 that included a fulfilment solution (a solution that transitions from spreadsheet based to cloud based), a new module called AutoEngage, and a new integrated shipping model named ShipExpress for orders to be shipped out easily.

This year, EFI aims to deliver rental and reservation management tools for events, such as the management of event signage and fixtures, SmartCanvas variable data publishing (VDP) tools for direct marketing automation, as well as Mid-market Suite integration of fulfilment tools and functions.

Its Publication Suite will see new CRM capabilities, enhanced search and tracking functions, and the ability for PrintFlow to batch short-run jobs in relation to stocks.

As for its Enterprise Suite, changes include the addition of mailing-specific functionality and customisable ‘smart notes’ and event management capabilities within iQuote. It also features AutoCount4D shopfloor data collection, EFI’s PrintFlow scheduling and management module, and Monarch MIS. Integration with third-party MIS solutions is also now possible.

Within its packaging suite, there is now a new ‘user-experience’ functionality in addition to features that is focused around business continuity. Microsoft SQL Server is now available as an alternative to the Progress database within Radius. The user interface of Radius has seen a facelift, according to EFI, especially around search capabilities.

Upgrades have also made their way to the Corrugated Suite, aimed at the production and conversion of corrugated board.

Matsliach said productivity software is key today as when software is aiming to serve in a superior way in a specific industry such as print and packaging and catering to the unique industry needs, it needs to demonstrate both an underlying technology vision combined with robust and innovative industry functional roadmap.

Matsliach also mentioned that with 2020 seeing many changes, especially brought on by the effects of COVID-19, there is more importance now than ever for businesses to have the most up-to-date productivity software.

“COVID-19 has brought about an evolving workforce and workplace, resulting in a critical need for intuitive, user-friendly technology that empowers your customers with direct and indirect visibility, and your team with speed, agility and efficiency,” he said.

“As technology and business processes are the drivers of business continuity and agility, we will continue to modernise and add innovation to key components and enablers of our business such as smart estimating, dynamic scheduling, business intelligence and the overall user experience.

“Most importantly, we want to help you develop your path forward to successfully evolve your business. Whether it’s diversification or specialisation, business expansion or operational optimisation, or new ways to leverage transformation from analog to digital, we are looking to be a part of the execution of your strategy.”
