EFI taps Metrix for Pace upgrade

The vendor previewed several upgrades at its annual user conference Connext, including wide-format specific tools and apps for Apple’s iPhone and iPad.

EFI Pace general manager Jay Farr said: “With the forthcoming version 23, Pace builds on the iPhone application and adds support for the iPad tablet to redefine data access, giving sales and management real-time access to business information when and where they need it.”

Pace’s iPhone and iPad applications include job enquiry, estimating wizard, GPS contact locator, delivery confirmation, schedule viewing, and links to a web cam in the user’s factory.

For wide-format customers, the new version enables quoting for multiple products ganged up on the same sheet, including the ability to review existing jobs and make ganging decisions on the fly. The ganging features are enabled through the use of Lithotechnics’ Metrix software.

EFI Australia MIS sales specialist David Giffin told ProPrint that the vendor was “excited” to be releasing the software locally soon.

“It’s set to become the premium browser-based MIS product for all segments of the digital printing industry,” he said.
