Entries open for Catalogue Awards

Entries are now open for the 27th Annual Catalogue Awards, hosted by the Australasian Catalogue Association (ACA), with more focus on retail marketing and some new categories.

Kellie Northwood says, “This year we have worked through our community stakeholder feedback and offer some new award categories – we are thrilled to include a new Point of Sale and In-Store category as well as a stronger focus on Custom Publishing and Magalogues sector.

Over the past quarter we have met with 127 stakeholders across the retail and agency community, it was clear that point of sale is strongly linked to other retail campaigns, including catalogues and magalogues. From this we have developed the category and added Point of Sale.”

The International Awards Program reached over 740 entries and 750 attendees last year.

The event will be presented by Dave O’Neil and held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC) on Friday September 7.

Categories include Home, Fashion, Cosmetics and Pharmacy, Recreation and Leisure, B2C, Retailers, Digital, Direct Mail. The ACA says although annual rivalries between big retailers such as Myer and David Jones will continue, there is room for boutique retailers demonstrating retail marketing strategy and brand positioning.

Last year, Franklin Web won Judges Choice Award while PMP took out both the Catalogue Retailer of the Year up to 3.5m for its Myer Remember When catalogue and Catalogue Retailer of the year up to 1.5m for its David Jones AW17 Brand Book 2.

Other printers that received recognition were Printgraphics for the Nali catalogue New Australian Design Catalogue in the Home category for Furniture, Bedding and Manchester; Finsbury Green for the Officeworks Little ones now have a bigger and better range to learn with in the B2C category Office Supplies; and Rawson Print Co for Defence Housing Australia’s Arkadia in the B2C category Real Estate and Property.

Northwood says, “Year after year, the Awards continue to be a celebration of a vibrant and growing industry. Last year we saw many more commercial printers entering for their retail work and we welcome the industry to select their best retail work and enter – new TSA Member entrants receive a discount on their entries so we look forward to including all retail print marketing campaigns.”

Award entries close Friday June 8. Judging in Melbourne will take place from June 25-28, in Sydney from July 2-4 and in Auckland on July 6.
