Epson Australia joins energy council

Epson Australia has become the latest sponsor of the Energy Efficiency Council, the peak body for energy efficiency, energy management and demand response, in Australia.

Epson Australia general manager Craig Heckenberg says the move is part of Epson’s continued commitment to sustainability and energy efficient technologies.

“The decision to partner with the Energy Efficiency Council was an easy one because both organisations share common values when it comes to energy efficiency,” Heckenberg says.

“Epson is playing an active role in helping Australian businesses reduce their energy consumption by delivering high quality products that require less energy to operate, without compromising on performance or cost.

“We see businesses every day, taking practical steps to reduce their energy consumption but there is still more work to be done. Australian businesses are already switching to LED lighting and more carbon efficient air conditioning systems but another area that should also be considered is office equipment.

“Laser printers and copiers consume a high amount of energy when compared to a business inkjet printer such as Epson’s Workforce Enterprise. By simply switching your laser printer or copier to inkjet you can drive down energy costs even further, while continuing to make a positive contribution to the environment”.

Epson Australia joins other leading companies on the council including ANZ, Schneider Electric, Siemens and Signify in supporting the council.

Epson says it is its commitment to sustainability that has led to the company’s commitment to integrate the inherent efficiencies of its PrecisionCore inkjet technology across its range of printers, in particular the WorkForce Enterprise series, which it says uses up to 87 per cent less power than comparable laser printers.

Energy Efficiency Council CEO Luke Menzel says, “Over the past decade, the EEC has been a vehicle for bringing together individuals and organisations with a deep interest in energy efficiency, and for coordinating effort that drives change. Epson’s commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency is clear, and we are delighted to welcome them as one of our most senior and passionate members. We look forward to working with the team to further our shared goal of making sensible, cost effective demand side solutions standard practice across the Australian economy.”
