Epson fabrics printer hits market

Epson has released a new fabric and garment printer that makes dye-sublimation jobs "fast, efficient and profitable".

The F series machines have a top production speed of 30sqm per hour. They are designed for soft signage and fabrics, and can also handle surface treatments such as wall panels and merchandise finishes such as custom mobile phone covers.

The 44-inch SureColor F6000, a sheet-based machine that was launched at PacPrint, has now hit the market. A 64-inch roll-to-roll model will follow later in the year.

"Epson has reinvented dye-sublimation printing with a solution that has been designed from the ground up to ensure superior image quality and improved operational reliability," said the manufacturer.

"The new Epson F series ships as a complete production solution that includes hardware, ink and RIP software. A range of optimised transfer media will also be offered."

Epson business unit manager Craig Heckenberg said the market for dye-sublimation inkjet devices was set to grow significantly.

"The F series offers print professionals the opportunity to add a new revenue stream with short-run customised production of textiles, surface treatments and promotional items, all supported by Epson's expertise and experience," said Heckenberg.

Meanwhile, Epson has extended its distribution partnership with Synnex to include the SureColor T series range of large-format printers.

Synnex Australia chief executive Kee Ong said the company's extensive reseller network would help Epson penetrate the specialised CAD, GIS, poster and education printing markets.

"Synnex is working closely with Epson to ensure the just-in-time availability of these cost-effective, high-speed, large-format, colour printers to our resellers through a well-planned and -executed go-to-market strategy," said Ong.

"All our resellers are backed by Synnex’s comprehensive infrastructure, knowledgeable support and superior services."

The T Series includes the 44-inch SureColor SC-T7000, 36-inch SC-T5000 and 24-inch SC-T3000.
