Epson targets technical printing growth with Walsh appointment

The company is targeting growth in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) and print shop markets, with Walsh’s appointment intended to provide a designated sales channel for these sectors.

Walsh takes on the role of national business development manager for AEC, GIS and Office Markets.

Craig Eckenburg, unit manager for the Business Solutions Division at Epson Australia, told ProPrint that the appointment had been timed to coincide with the launch of the Stylus Pro 7700 and Stylus Pro 9700 presses (pictured).

“So we’ve launched a new product, and the company has an interest in further developing its reach in the large-format market,” he said.

“We still see room for growth. We’ve dominated the graphic side with photography and pre-press, and now we see other areas of growth in the technical market.”

Walsh has over 20 years’ experience in the AEC space, most recently serving as a sales executive for Océ Australia’s wide-format division.

Eckenburg said Epson was also “in discussions” with a series of other companies to undertake joint marketing programs to promote its large-format offering.
