‘Every day is good news’ as printers share their positive stories

So we asked a few businesses if they had any good news to share.

Here are the heartening responses we received.

Romeo Sanuri

General manager, Next Printing

We’ve just won a gold medal in the HP Digital Print Awards 2012 in the Retail POS/POP category using an HP Scitex. The award proves how creative we are. Since the middle of last year, we’ve kept receiving very challenging visual merchandising jobs to produce, because retailers want to have a unique selling point. We’re not afraid to take on challenging projects. Our aim is to provide best-in-class marketing solutions for our clients.

David Fuller

Managing director, Focus Press

“This industry is just powering at the moment. One of the best things in this industry has to be augmented reality, because it’s bringing the industry together and it’s going to make print important. I just can’t believe how exciting this is. If consumers go for it it’s going to be the most powerful thing in print. Augment reality is just the proper version of what QR codes should be.”

Rio Chard

Marketing and business development manager, Scott Print

Scott’s is constantly supporting the local economy. We have a stack of sponsorships and support for WA including:

  • Down syndrome WA Ball
  • Pink Ribbon Ball
  • Great Pram Push
  • Lion’s Club Bullcreek
  • Men in Black Ball
  • International Women’s Day
  • Ronald McDonald House
  • PMH Foundation

As a Western Australian-owned and operated business it is important that we can give back and support the local community.

Shawn Ballesty

Director, Allmad

We installed a Lamina 1116-1620 FA from Sweden just over a year ago. It’s 55% faster than our old one. After the financial year our figures showed we have increased our turnover and have not had to put on any extra staff to keep up with demand. We have also seen a drop in overtime costs.

Graham Deaner

Managing director, Evolve Printing

“To make Evolve Printing successful I had to establish a brand to be proud of and introduce a new generational mindset into a conservative printing industry.

Printing is so much more than putting ink on paper. It is an art that should be celebrated.

The celebration of print to me is about putting together masterpieces that push the capabilities of print over the edge which sometimes means breaking the rules.

We educate ourselves by working with paper companies such as BJ Ball and KW Doggett to understand the difference in quality and capabilities of paper products. We test new techniques working alongside embellishment companies like Goldcraft, Horizon Graphics and Blazze Lasercutting.

Evolve Printing’s goal is to create pieces of art that enhance the brand of our partners, to celebrate the printing industry as a whole, to create a new mindset that will bring growth to our industry in times of hardship and to make print relevant in the midst of an online movement.”

Carl Mendelle

Co-owner, Discus Digital Print

“We have just finished our first year in business and are confident enough to have purchased an HP Indigo 7600 to complement the Indigo 5000 we started with.”

David Leach

Managing director, Look Print

“Every day here at Look Print is good news.”
