Ex DES technical manager David Crowther starts new colour management venture

Colour Graphic Services is taking to market a range of colour management tools, including the Mellow Colour systems as well as products from X-Rite and Pantone, said Crowther, who was previously technical manager for DES, heading up colour training division Chromaticity Australia.

Crowther’s new venture has taken over the activities of Chromaticity Australia, and he is currently visiting existing clients across the country to bring them up to speed with the new arrangement.

He said: “This new opportunity for Colour Graphic Services to work closely with DES and other industry vendors will lower the barriers to achieving colour accuracy, colour training and colour standards across all markets, implementing and audit certification for printing companies to ISO 12647 from an independent source.”

DES managing director Ian Clare said: “We are pleased to form this alliance with David; we have worked very closely together for seven years and see this as bringing a new dimension to colour consulting for the industry.”

Colour Graphic Services has signed up as a member of GASAA and is expected to exhibit at the association’s upcoming PrintCom expo in Melbourne.

Crowther said: “I have had a long association with GASAA as it is a significant membership body with a focus on front-end support, particularly in the area of colour management. Signing up my new consultancy up to GASAA continues that strong industry connection.”
