Ferag announces two launches for Ifra Expo

The Swiss vendor will give a world premiere to the ‘fold n’ stitch’ quarterfold line with integrated stitching, as well as unveiling its Navigator mailroom control.

Ferag chief executive Jürg Möckli said: “It’s a tradition that Ferag is ready with a new development in time for Ifra Expo. This year, we are proud to present two such developments in Hamburg.”

According to Ferag, its ‘fold n‘ stitch’ system machine is aimed at offering added value in the mailroom.

It features the StreamFold quarterfold component, which was launched at Ifra 2009, but also adds a saddle stitching function to the process, which will give newspaper printers more production freedom, Ferag said.

Möckli added: “As an integral element in the Ferag system, when it comes to flexibility, ‘fold n‘ stitch’ leaves almost nothing to be desired.

“The mobile quarterfold and stitching component is quick and easy to move between different UTR delivery stations and can therefore be connected inline to several folder deliveries. The line can also be fed in stand-alone mode, independent of the printing operation, using the universal JetFeeder hopper.”

Ifra Expo takes place from 4-6 October 2010. Both products will be commercially available to Australian printers following the launch.
