Focus Press upgrades CTP set-up with Xingraphics

The 90-staff Komori house has also updated its workflow to latest version of Kodak Prinergy.

Focus managing director David Fuller told ProPrint that the Platerite, which would be installed this week, replaced a legacy CTP system Fuller said was “getting on a bit”.

It will handle half-sized plates for the Matraville facility’s press line, which includes a six-colour and two five-colour Komori presses.

Fuller added that his good working relationship with Xingraphics was another motivation for the purchase.

“We’ve found them very good to do business with,” Fuller said.

Xingraphics corporate vice-president Safwen Hijazitold ProPrint that Focus was its largest Australian customer.

Fuller estimated that the company runs through about 20,000 plates a month across both its Matraville and Strathfield sites.
