FPLMA technical forum and awards postponed to Feb 2022

Due to the uncertainties around the latest outbreak of COVID-19, coupled with the threat of ongoing lockdowns and the growing number of exposure sites, the Flexible Packaging & Label Manufacturers Association (FPLMA) has postponed its upcoming technical forum and awards.

The association said the event, which was initially scheduled to take place on 2 to 3 September in Melbourne, will now take place on 24 and 25 February 2022 instead.

“[It] raises a doubt to the viability of the conference as planned,” the FPLMA general manager Anthony Dalleore said.

“The new date will allow us to give recognition to the winners of the highly acclaimed FPLMA Print Awards and announcement of the Apprentice of the Year, and maximise recognition of our sponsors support.

“The website and booking system will be updated to reflect the new dates and will remain active so that prospective delegates can register early. Existing bookings will be carried over to the new conference date but should you require a refund please contact myself and we will get this actioned.

“On behalf of the FPLMA I sincerely look forward to seeing you at next year’s event which will be a truly spectacular evening with exhilarating entertainment and awards presentations.”

A number of other industry events have also been recently postponed following the recent lockdowns in some states and the uncertainties around the new Delta strain of the pandemic.

To name a few, FESPA Australia’s Sydney social has been postponed to 26 August, some of the PICAs celebrations have been rescheduled to later dates, and PacPrint 2021 got postponed to middle of 2022, following which The Australian Sign and Graphics Association (ASGA) and FESPA Australia rescheduled the HP Awards for Excellence presentation with a future date yet to be set.
