Fuji Xerox teams up with Open Text

With Open Text specialising in document and data capture software which helps convert paper documents to digital content, the joint offering will combine Open Text’s eDOCS DM software with Fuji Xerox printing and scanning technology.

Open Text said in a statement that this offering will deliver “significant cost reductions and productivity gains by fast and easy integration of business document workflows”.

“As an example, many companies still have standalone fax machines that operate on separate phone lines and require middleware applications to integrate with business systems,” said Open Text director of channels Chris Petersen (pictured). “At the same time, people typically think of document management as a standalone desktop application.  By partnering with Fuji Xerox, we can offer organisations a comprehensive solution for the integrated management of business-critical documents from capture to eventual archival or destruction.”

The two companies are already working together on a project for the Victorian government which aims to bridge the gap between standalone devices and document management.

“The seamless integration of hard copy and electronic documents is key to providing our customers with innovative solutions to their business process challenges,” said Andrew Taylor, national manager of the Office Innovation Group at Fuji Xerox Australia.

“This partnership with Fuji Xerox is indicative of our commitment to continually serve the evolving needs of today’s businesses as they embrace new technologies for efficiency and collaboration,” said Petersen. “While the partnership will be a mutually beneficial relationship for both companies it will also will help our installed base extend the benefits of their Open Text investment.”
