Fujifilm sets out plans for wind farm at plate production site

The company has joined up with Evelop, the project development division of sustainable energy company Econcern, to construct between three and five wind turbines at the site.

Once completed, between 15,000 and 24,000 megawatt hours of energy per year will be produced, providing 10-20% of the energy needed to power the Tilburg production plant.

The wind turbines are expected to be operational by 2011. The announcement follows on from the company’s €96m (A$191m) investment in a third line at its Tilburg site, which is expected to be completed by January 2010.
