Fujifilm, Taopix, Oce talk up success of Ipex 2010

Ryutu Masui, senior vice-president of the graphic systems business domain, said: “We are delighted with the results that the Ipex exhibition has brought us. Despite volcanic ash and airline strikes, we saw a record number of visitors to our stand.”

The Jet Press 720 proved to be the most popular machine on the company’s booth, drawing in large crowds during presentations.

Fuji also demonstrated its complete product offering, with wide-format and Euromedia products alongside workflow, digital and offset production solutions.

Masui added: “We hosted more than 300 VIP tours of the press over the course of the show. We’re extremely pleased with the outcome in terms of actual sales and firm leads generated.

“The number of overseas visitors was also very encouraging, making it a truly international show for us. We do feel that Ipex 2010 came at the right time and right place, and look forward to an upbeat remainder to 2010.”

Meanwhile, photobook software manufacturer Taopix said it had conducted over 1600 product demonstrations at the show, resulting in 600 leads.

In all, the company signed eleven deals for the software during the show, with scores of others committing to signing after the show.

Taopix chief executive James Gray said: “This Ipex has been the best trade show for Taopix to date. There was never a time when the stand wasn’t busy. The number of interested parties certainly backs up the trend for growth in the photobook and photo gifting market.”

Gray also reported strong interest from Asian customers during the show, adding that 60% of visitors to the stand were from outside the UK.

Meanwhile, Océ Australia has announced that the CS6410 and CS6407 wide format presses launched at the show will be released in Australia soon.

The presses will appear on Océ’s stand at the Sydney Visual Impact Image Expo from 20-22 September.
