Gallus scores at Labelexpo

Gallus took orders for both digital and analogue presses at Labelexpo, with the Heidelberg-owned company proclaiming the show a major success.

At Labelexpo Gallus presented the Gallus Labelfire digital label press with enhanced inline finishing processes, enabling it to produce finished and die-cut labels in just one production run.

The company says the digital printing of finished labels on the Gallus Labelfire guarantees faster production times in conjunction with less paper waste, meaning that label printers save time, money and material in comparison with a multi-stage production process, as switching to the downstream postpress process is dispensed with.

Gallus says that with the latest generation of Fujifilm inkjet printheads, the Labelfire, achieves a native resolution of 1,200 dpi, ensuring print quality that matches that of offset printing.

Gallus also presented the Gallus Labelmaster Advanced line with multiweb feature – several webs are processed simultaneously and are merged to produce the end product – to the public for the first time.

Thanks to its modular design, the Gallus Labelmaster Advanced line has flexibility and a automation, with Gallus saying that the press provides label printers with maximum process variability. This means that the various finishing and printing units at any position in the press can be changed quickly and easily, facilitating virtually any configuration, including for the production of complex label products.

The demand for this press platform exceeded expectations, resulting in the fastest start-up of a machine system in the history of Gallus. The initial series of more than 20 machines, which will be produced by the end of the year, has already been sold.
