Geon raises Indigo capacity by over 30% with NZ’s first 7500 model

The new machine, which can print 120 A4 pages per minute, joins two Indigo 5500s and two 7500s to give the trans-Tasman group the widest geographical Indigo coverage in ANZ.

Chief executive Graham Morgan said the investment was part of Geon’s continuing push into the digital market.

“Geon has been working with our existing and new clients on our digital offering and strategy for the past 18 months,” he said.

“During this time we have been successful in securing digital print contracts and it is off this platform that we have continued to grow our strategy and invest accordingly throughout the group.

“Machinery was selected based on environmental credentials, capability to suit customer demand, leading technology and opportunity to challenge forecasted industry growth in the digital print area,” said Geon.

The 7500 was bought through Currie Group and has been up and running in Geon’s North Island digital site in Kingsland since Monday (16 May).

Currie sales and marketing director Phillip Rennell said: “It is fair to say that Geon are one of the largest Indigo operators in ANZ and they certainly have the greatest geographical coverage with Indigos in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and now New Zealand.”
