GMG proofing service and Asian partner unveiled

GMG is pitching Proofr as an online global proofing service that allows users of its ColorProof software to have hard proofs printed and delivered anywhere in the world.

Users choose which printer they want to produce the job before sending GMG the images in either JPG, TIFF or PDF file formats. They then specify the proof requirements and delivery options prior to payment.

The colour management specialist has also built upon its partnerships with industry suppliers such as Epson and Canon, claiming that it now provides products across the proofing, pressroom, digital and large-format production areas.

In addition to the launch of Proofr, GMG will partner with the 83-company strong Yuncheng group in a deal that involves the migration of the Chinese group’s 300 existing digital proofing systems to GMG ColorProof. It will also oversee Yuncheng’s adoption of its ProofControl software.

Paul Willems (pictured), chief executive of GMG, said the agreement would have a “big impact” on the Asian market, as well as making those markets “more and more important” for the development of the software company.

He said: “We are very proud that we have signed this close collaboration with Yuncheng to enhance the colour management capabilities of the world’s biggest cylinder producer.”
