Graphic Press boosts productivity with Eurofold machine

The machine, supplied by TS Wilson Jnr, has been put to work on a new pharmaceutical brochure for a long-established client, said Graphic Press & Packaging manager Richard Ridout.

“We selected the Eurofold principally for the standing delivery attachment that we identified as ideal for the thousands of 45x75mm, 16pp brochures we now produce, but we were also attracted to the machine’s quality of build and clean lines,” Ridout told ProPrint.

“We can now leave our larger equipment set for the magazine and book work, while the Eurofold gets on with A3 to A4/A4-DL etc.

“The result is much more flexibility, faster turnaround times, and just as important, it’s easier on our operators through not having to break down the larger machinery for small-format work,” he added.

Ridout said the machine was easy to use, easy to set up, and fast, as well as being equipped with castors which mean it could also be readily positioned as required.

“So if it’s an A4-DL leaflet, we’ll just roll the machine in against the packing benches to minimise handling or, if we are folding a four-page cover to accompany a 16pp section of a magazine or bookwork, we will position the machine to marry up with outputs for the other sections.”

TS Wilson Jnr director Geoff Wilson agreed that the standing delivery was a key feature of the folder, which can handle paper sizes from 90x120mm to 350x650mm and fold up to 30,000 A4-DLs an hour.

“Otherwise, if you have big fat wheels on a conveyor table, those little brochures go all over the place,” he said.

“Eurofolds are also very well-engineered machines, allowing them to achieve highly accurate folding at high speeds.

“They are easy to maintain and service, and I believe all 100-plus machines we’ve supplied over the past 18 years are all still operating today,” he added.

Wilson, whose company has a long trading history with Levin-based Graphic Press & Packaging, claimed that Eurofold had become one of the most popular brands of folder in the country.
