High-visibility outdoor campaign aims to bring tourists back to Queensland

The $400,000 campaign, which was organised by Tourism Queensland and regional tourism body Sunshine Coast Destination, includes a train station print bombardment to lure commuters to the region.

The ‘station domination’ campaigns have been executed at Sydney’s Wynyard Station, Brisbane Central and Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station. Printed collateral includes double-sided hanging banners, posters, light box posters and floor graphics.

The Brisbane and Melbourne work was organised by JCDecaux, while APN Outdoor coordinated the Sydney site.

JCDecaux enlisted The Print Centre Melbourne for the Southern Cross blitz and used Blue Media and Advanced AdSignz for the Brisbane campaign, part of which included a giant 14-metre banner.

A Tourism Queensland spokesperson said the campaign had been planned before the floods but altered afterward to include a ‘Queensland ready to welcome you’ message.

“The sites were chosen due to high-volume commuter traffic, impactful space and the opportunity to demonstrate the many dimensions of the Sunshine Coast holiday experience through imagery and engaging headlines written to support the commuting context,” added the spokesperson.
