Horizon to launch A4 landscape bookletmaker at Drupa

The 4,500bph machine incorporates all the existing features of the Japanese manufacturer’s SPF/FC-200A bookletmaker, combined with the ability to feed A4 landscape sheets up to 640mm.

It features built-in error-rejecting and hand-marrying trays, as well as an automated fold-roller-gap changeover.

The Horizon SPF/FC200L can be connected to Horizon’s new HOF 400 digital sheet feeder, which can run at speeds of up to 42,000 sheets per hour with A4 short-edge feeding.

The main feeder, cover feeder, accumulator, CCD camera device, and barcode-reading device can be arranged in various configurations.

IFS joint managing director Bryan Godwyn said: “Horizon has recognised there is a niche market for landscape-format booklets and brochures in the A4 format, and although it is a small proportion of the marketplace, felt it was important to address this requirement.

“The Horizon SPF/FC200L is ideal for that purpose. In terms of the mainstream booklet production marketplace, the market leading StitchLiner remains the optimum solution in terms of quality price and productivity.”
