Imagination Graphics forays further into labels space

Imagination Graphics has amped up its efforts within the labels space as a result of the changes brought about in the industry following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Its director Emmanuel Buhagiar told Sprinter that the company decided to print labels and other collateral related to COVID-19 as it saw opportunity within that space.

“We’re doing a lot of what other printers are doing now, which is getting more involved in the signage space. We used to do a little bit of signage, but have recently increased our signage-related advertising with our clients,” he said.

“We do corflute signs now, in addition to pull-up banners, brochures and floor signage. So, we’ve got a lot more work down that part of the business, which is good.

“We’ve also brought on board more customers – clients that are health-related and some of our existing clients in the health education space have been able to keep us ticking along with all that kind of material as well.

“Even though we’re still down in turnover because of COVID-19, we’re able to keep going because we farmed most of our jobs to other printers to hold on to our existing customers. I want to be loyal to our clients and not let them down.”

Imagination Graphics has been using its Mimaki LED UV printer in producing these materials.

“Our Mimaki printer has been working non-stop. It’s a work horse and it’s been working really well. We find lots of potential in the labels space and when the opportunity presented itself for us to be on this space, we decided to help our clients in every way that we can,” Buhagiar said.

“If we can’t do it, we’ll find someone who can. And after a while, if I can bring it in house and the market needs are still there, I’ll buy machinery to suit. I love the idea of having to do everything in one place at Imagination Graphics.”

The company is also offering boxes of hand sanitisers.

“This is something new that we’re doing. We’re obviously buying it in and we’ve got a couple of orders for those already. We’re quite happy with how that’s going,” he said.

“Printers that want to keep their businesses alive in a COVID-19 world will have to evolve to keep their business moving forward. You have got to embrace technology; you have got to embrace what’s out there in the market; You’ve got to keep your eyes and ears open.

“And whatever comes your way, don’t be scared to take it on. Learn to do it, that’s my philosophy.”
