International Print Day needs you

International Print Day 2017 (IPD) is happening today, in what will be the fourth outing for the attempt to raise the public’s consciousness of the benefits of print.

The event calls for all printers to tag all their social media posts with #IPD17, and to share their stories. IPD kicked off in Australia at 9am EDST, moving all the way to 5pm Eastern Time in the United States.

The Queensland branch of the LIA is hosting a special get-together today, inviting the region’s printers for a catch up and celebration of IPD.

The event organisers say that drinks and nibbles are provided, and those attending will have an opportunity to network, hear about upcoming LIA events, check out print samples, and provide their own.

The LIA event takes place at the Fuji Xerox offices in South Brisbane at 5.30pm onwards.

Australian Printer encourages printers to participate. Tag AP in your Facebook, Twitter posts and we will retweet and share them to the AP audience to celebrate #IPD17.

The organisers of IPD, US-based Print Media Centr say that the goal is to get print trending worldwide. They say this requires printers to show funky projects, share blogs about case studies and other successes that include more than just you.

Print Media Centr says, “Share pictures of cool print, shares pictures of your company celebrating #IPD17. Share links to great digital media, and print that incorporates amazing marketing technologies. The more wow factor, the better. Imagine how many retweets are possible.

“Share the love. October 18 is one day out of 365 that we are all on the same team. Share all #IPD17 info sent out through social media relevant to your audience, share after, then share again. If you something relevant but not tagged with #IPD17 – add it in – and share away.

“In 2016 we generated 6,555 Tweets, delivered to 30 million timelines, from 1096 contributors.”
