Ipex back in Birmingham

Print trade show Ipex is back in Birmingham for its 2017 event after its ill-fated move to London last time out, with the new show slated for October 31 – November 3

Ipex has always been popular with Australians, however the 2014 event was hit by a succession of withdrawals following Heidelberg’s decision to pull out, leaving the show without many of the major names.

The move to London from Birmingham was partly blamed for the exhibitor exit, the location was somewhat inaccessible compared with the NEC, which is next to the airport, railway station and motorway, and hotel costs were significantly higher.

Ipex says more than 400 exhibitors will be at the revamped 2017 show, and says major British manufacturers have endorsed what it says is its ‘vigorous response to market changes’ by committing to the organiser’s new vision for the industry’s major sales event.

Reflecting the major print trends of automation, finishing and digitisation show organiser Informa today welcomes Apex Digital Graphics, Duplo, Intelligent Finishing Systems, Renz and Watkiss Automation to the growing exhibitor list.

“Ipex welcomes the confidence of manufacturers from its home country,” comments Rob Fisher, event director. “Exhibitors are telling us that our inclusive approach towards the show’s format and our innovative sales formula are consolidating Ipex’s role as 2017’s must-attend event.”

Ipex is in fact one of three trade shows planned in England next year.
