Konica invites printers to digital embellishment

Konica Minolta is inviting printers to demonstrations tomorrow afternoon of the new MGI JetVarnish JV3DS UV coating system, which can coat and now foil as well. According to Konica Minolta the JetVarnish makes colours pop off the page, and can be used to improve brand value, increase marketing potential and promote increased revenue for print. The award-winning JetVarnish 3D produces takes digital spot UV for flat spot UV jobs and 3D raised effects.

Designed for operations with offset and/or digital presses up to 52×105 cm format, the JetVarnish 3D is a solution for 3D or traditional flat spot UV coating on runs from one to thousands, providing printers with an value-added services. The company says it enables customisation not available through traditional and analogue spot UV coating methods. The iFoil function eliminates the need for films, dies and makeready, allowing printers to produce hot foil stamping and embossing jobs from one to thousands of sheets with both v high profitability and ease of use, for jobs including magazine covers, books, brochures, labels, to invitations and packaging. Spectacular effects are now available within a 100% digital process including embossing and debossing, multiple colored foils applied in one pass (up to three colours), variable data printing (VDP) on Hot Foil Stamping and/or Spot UV Coating (text or image), foil on foil, and an exclusive capability to foil and emboss on plastic including on Polypropylene (PP).
