Konica Minolta launches Accurio C6100/C6085

Konica Minolta has launched its latest Accurio Press, the C6100 series, introducing an automated closed-loop quality management system.

Customers want reprint capabilities that can be produced correctly and easily, have the IQ-501 closed-loop quality management system removes the need for third-party colour management systems. The IQ-501 frees up time for the operator that can be spent doing other print jobsThe C6100 has a  monthly peak volume of 1.8 million sheets, and a resolution of 3600 (equivalent) x 1200 dpi resolution with 8-bit processing for smoother, Konica Minolta says it will offer realistic colour images to rival offset print with digital flexibility.

The C6100 series will also offer the same speed of 100ppm across all paper weights. Adding to its flexibility, the company plans on introducing a long-sheet hardware upgrade soon after its market release, with a date of early 2018 given.

As the successor of the flagship bizhub Press C1100/C1085 series, Konica Minolta says the new Accurio Press C6100 series will include its advanced Intelligent Quality Optimiser (IQ-501), its new fully-automated, closed-loop quality management system.

The company says the IQ-501 results in superior colour consistency and accurate front-to-back registration.

Grant Thomas, product marketing manager, Konica Minolta Australia, says, “It will give printers efficiency of printing with high level automation, revolving around the IQ-501, which scans the image being printed on the page, and provides real time corrections for registration, image position, and colour density.

“It is ideal for commercial printers, graphics printers that require high quality and quick turnaround. Print for pay shops and high-volume colour print requirements like a corporate print room where print is driven by a central location, would be well served by the machine.

“It sits at 100ppm for A4, on all paper weights up to 400gsm. It can now handle the whole media weight range and types at this high speed.

“SRA3 sheets can be printed at a fast 49ppm.

“The longsheet option coming to market next year will allow for 1300mm simplex printing, and 762 duplex long sheet. No other machine on the market is capable of doing that currently.

“It will be a hardware upgrade, and we will be retrofitting them to products in the field.”

The Accurio Press C6100 series delivers support on a large range of media types and weights, from 52 up to 400gsm at a maximum rated speed of 100ipm. In addition, envelope print functionality is now available with the advanced envelope fuser. Long sheet (banner) ideal for producing book covers and folded collateral, creating new opportunities for professional print and graphic communications providers.

Konica Minolta says the C6100 and C6085 are available with a paper feed unit option that includes the newly designed colour dual scanner which is capable of running at scan speeds of up to 240 ipm, and is equipped with a double-feed detection kit to avoid scanning two sheets at once, avoiding incomplete scanned document files.

Thomas says “With the expansion of value-added features and high-level improvements, the new Accurio Press C6100 series is efficient and versatile, while providing high-quality print and reliability to surpass our customers’ expectations.

“IQ-501 overcomes some of the biggest pain points in digital print production such as time-consuming front-to-back registration, extensive colour set-up and complex paper set-up operations with leading technologies that simplify the process.

“The new series also delivers a top-class monthly duty cycle with high yield parts and consumables. Collectively, these innovations have been combined into Konica Minolta’s fastest and most efficient automated colour press to date.”

The Accurio PRESS C6100 produces brilliant full colour output at 100ppm with A4 and an impressive 49ppm for SRA3 sheets, with no speed change for heavy weight media of up to 400gsm simplex and duplex.
