Kwik Kopy scores top 10 franchise honour

Kwik Kopy has been awarded fifth place at this year’s Top Franchise Awards, recognised as one of the top ten Australian franchises, and the only print business to score the accolade.

The top 10 list is devised following an independent survey of some 1000 franchisees. Kwik Kopy secured second place in the brand category and fifth place overall, jumping up five places from its tenth position last year

The print franchise was also the only B2B outfit to be recognised at the awards. According to Kwik Kopy, the percentage of franchise owners renewing their agreement jumped by 17 per cent between 2015 and 2016.

Kwik Kopy managing director David Bell says the result is a testament to a bright future in print franchising, and asserts print is still alive and well.

“One of the challenges Kwik Kopy faced over the past decade was a print industry in decline, but we have managed to swim against the tide,” says Bell.

“We have a renewed focus on traditional print with robust marketing campaigns that have cut through, plus increased resources that have secured big wins for our franchisees with large format products.”

Award organiser topfranchise.com.au head of intelligence Ian Krawitz says the Kwik Kopy group is performing better in some areas than it was five years ago, despite industry struggles.

“In some areas, Kwik Kopy franchises are the most positive they have been since the national franchise operation appeared in the top 10 awards in 2011,” says Krawitz.

“Some of the standout reasons for their current success include the guidance Kwik Kopy head office provides to their franchisees to be able to operate profitability, and franchisee belief that they will be able to sell their business for a good return on investment in the future.”

Kwik Kopy operates 93 franchise locations across Australia, and was established in 1982.
