LIA-NSW celebrating top graduates

The NSW division of the LIA is holding its Graduate of the Year Awards at Carnarvon Function Centre, Lidcombe, on May 16.

There are four nominated graduates, Frankie Abraham of Visy Industries; Jessica Bevan of JA Wales; Simon Morrisey of Kwik Copy Wollongong; and Sean Norton, of SkillSet Spatial Services.

There are three guest speakers scheduled for the night, Kellie Northwood of TSA Limited will discuss how the advocacy group is raising awareness and telling the story of the strength of paper and print as an effective, sustainable and important media channel.

Northwood will be followed by Andrew Macaulay, CEO, PIAA, and Karen Goldsmith, general manager, Visual Connections.

Pre-dinner drinks will be served from 6:30, with dinner taking place at 7:15. The dress code is semi-formal.

The organisers say that the annual awards night is one of the most important events in the graphic arts calendar, where recognition is given to the industry’s most talented graduates.

The winners go on to compete at the LIA-Visual Connections National Graduate of the Year award, held biannually.

Tickets can be booked by emailing requests to nsw.secretary@lia.com.au. Tickets are $80 per person. Bookings close on Friday May 11 at noon.
