Mimaki’s entry into latex to be demonstrated at Visual Impact

The JV400 LX range will use the company’s new latex ink set, which is claimed to use a low curing heat, consuming less energy and enabling the machines to print on a wider range of materials.

Mimaki’s new latex printers are also the first to feature a white ink set that complements the machine’s other six colours.

The printers will be displayed on the stand of GBC Australia, which has recently secured the agency for the Mimaki range.

GBC said: “[These are] the world’s first latex printers using white ink, while employing a low curing temperature, enabling printing on a large variety of heat-sensitive materials not previously available.”

Large-format manager David Cheng said GBC was excited to supply “an energy-efficient, high-speed latex machine incorporating white ink with fast-drying time”.

GBC will also showcase the new Mimaki UJF-3042 A3 UV LED printer.

It comes after GBC held an open house in Sydney on Tuesday and Wednesday that included a GBC Magnapunch 2.0 binding machine.

HP has also chosen Visual Impact as the place to introduce its Designjet L26500 and Designjet L28500.

The trade show will be held from 19-21 April at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Meanwhile, Mimaki has appointed Hisayuki Kobayashi as its new president following the retirement of current head Mikio Noguchi this June.
